It was confirmed just yesterday that T-ARA's newest member Lee Ahreum will be leaving the group to pursue a solo career.
Ahreum debuted as the 8th member of T-ARA last July and began promoting with the group since then. Together with T-ARA she promoted "Day by Day" and later "Countryside Life" with T-ARA N4. Exactly a year had passed and she decided to call it quits.
I have to admit I really did not expect this at all, especially coming from T-ARA's latest member despite the group's complicated image. She just debuted as a part of T-ARA sub-unit last June as well, making this update seems like a mere prank. It has been confirmed that she would pursue her love for hip-hop in her upcoming solo debut and knowing how well she can rap, I have no objections to that. Ahreum posted an exclusive video on T-ARA's official fan cafe in which its contents include her explaining why she is leaving the group to avoid any other "bullying" controversy.
Although she is leaving on good terms, Netizens are getting a lot crankier with Core Contents Media's management skills. CCM is currently deciding whether or not they should replace Ahreum with Danee, the trainee who was introduced just last year. Netizens commented:
"They HAVE to give her a shot with her solo career for the sake of their public image."
"Ahreum is just so unlucky to join the group just a few weeks before the [bullying] controversy. After that the group's popularity became completely negative."
"And with everybody so worried in hating T-Ara, no one is really paying attention to the "new girl.""
"Scandal, announce new member but she does not join, another member join for 1 song, then split into 2 group, then new member leaves... what is this?"
"I just wish the girl would just leave their company and start from scratch somewhere else. What a joke..."

[TRANSLATIONS] "There's a new update. It looks like I'll be seeing you all as a solo artist. Don't forget T-ara's Ahreum. Thank you for giving me so much love. I felt so much love at the fan meeting and while promoting with T-ara. In the future, I'll be meeting you all with an image that's a few thousand times better than the Ahreum you saw in 'Countryside Life'. The time I had with the unnis will be a fond memory, but Ahreum will most likely be returning solo. Still, the unnis will continue to be active, so don't forget them and don't forget Ahreum either. Ahreum fighting and T-ara fighting. Thank you so much for loving Ahreum until now. Please don't ever forget the songs or performance I had with T-ara. I miss you. I love you."
To be truly honest, I do not think it is a good idea to be adding anymore new members into the group. Within two years, two of the new members had left and the group clearly needs to find stability - adding another new member will not be the answer. I believe T-ARA should just exist as a 6-members group consisting the original members Boram, Soyeon, Hyomin, Eunjung, Q-ri and Jiyeon. Either that or they should break the group up and have them start from scratch some place else. Their career is as good as a rookie's as of now, completely unpredictable. Good luck, girls.
