SM Entertainment's latest hot boy band EXO recently starred as guests on the very first episode of KBS' Global Request Live: A Song For You. While climbing their way on global music charts and selling the most records in just 3 months, EXO has successfully won "Triple Crowns" on three of the local music shows winning #1 in three consecutive weeks stretching all the way to their goodbye stage for "Growl." They have indeed made a significant and impressive improvement from the last time we have seen them active.
Through this unique show, the boys were offered to showcase their individual talents to selected audience and in turn garnering attention towards themselves as growing artists. This could also be a form of gratitude coming from them for all their loyal fans all over the globe.
There was a particular performance which inevitably caught the attention of many - the one in which all their vocalists came together to bring their very own version of Journey's "Open Arms." I believe they had chosen to bring an English song to capture the hearts of their international fans who have been so supportive of them since day one.
The four of them (Baekhyun and D.O from EXO-K, Chen and LuHan from EXO-M) sang their souls into the song bringing justice to it as if they have been performing the song all their lives. The song tells a story of man who had once lost the love of his love and is the same person who is now coming back to her with "open arms." Who wouldn't want to be accepted with open arms by these boys?
I truly am proud to see the improvements that they have made thus far which was developed from the experience they have gained along the way. With the latest two albums "XOXO" and "Growl: Repackaged," EXO has made so much impact on the South Korean entertainment industry marking their significance with style. Biased feelings aside and for one who had listened to most of the successfully released albums this year alone, I have to admit their latest two are indeed two of the best collectively. Congratulations, boys!
