After waiting patiently for a whole month, SM Entertainment finally releases the drama version for EXO's title song Wolf (You're The Beauty) from their XOXO album despite promising to release this version together with the dance version earlier this year. The release of this version was so sudden causing fans to be bowled over and a bit puzzled as to why a specific date was not announced.
The music video seems to be telling a story of a young man whose fate is as unpredictable as the release of this version - OK sorry. The video opens with Kris and Luhan exchanging what seem like goodbyes before Kris leaves the scene, disappearing into the background. The female actress who is currently a trainee under SM, So Hee, is introduced in the next scene.
Let's cut to the chase, shall we? After having a quick encounter with So Hee while he was chased by the bad guys, Luhan seemed to be intrigued by the way she had looked at him. Later in the video he learnt that the girl he met is one of his classmates causing him to be more cautious of his movements but at the same time getting attracted to her as time passes. The conflict is introduced when we learnt that she is actually Kai's girl, one of Luhan's best mates.
During a fight scene between his boys and the bad guys, Luhan lost himself after realising that they could not stand a chance against their opponents. In desperate need to save his friends, he surrendered to the dark side and battled out anyone who was on his way while being a half-wolf. While thinking he could save what was left of his friends, he ended up hurting one of them. The tension rises as the boys leave the scene while So Hee enters, coming out from her hiding spot. So Hee who was frightened gathered up her courage and asked "[TRANS] Who are you? What exactly are you?" right before the video ends with "to be continued" marking another sequel which we all have yet to anticipate.
Why am I being detailed? Because frankly I myself needed to understand what was actually going on and by typing the scenes out I guess I am halfway there. I expected something more though but I cannot say I am not grateful that SM actually released the music video. Hopefully the continuation of the drama version will be released alongside their follow-up song(s) under their XOXO album later this month. Good luck my boys!
