This will be my very first time reviewing on an artist from Woollim Entertainment and I have to admit that I am a little excited to tell you all honestly how I feel about this comeback of theirs with their title song "Destiny" taken from their album of the same name. Since they are a bunch of really good-looking guys, I decided to give this song a listen first before I actually watched the video, so here goes.
The song had some sort of a confusing opening and honestly, that was not really to my liking but then it quickly changes into something a lot more familiar and from then onwards, the song just captures me. The harmonisation and everything else before the beat was even dropped was perfect and I was intrigued to listen to the song until the very end.
And then as the song was about to end, it hit me why the song even had such a confusing opening. This song tells a story of a young man who had once left his lover for his own selfish reasons and is the same person who is now crawling back to her, fishing her sympathy. Although he is pushing his pride aside, he is determined the same to stay by her side because he believes that she is his "destiny." The confusion there represents how his mind works and I have to say the it did catch my attention splendidly.
"I threw away our memories that have shattered to pieces
But I didn’t want to leave it as just a memory so I’m on my knees and begging
I guess I was out of my mind at the end of our long relationship
Please catch me, who has gone awry. I’m locked in regrets so give me a chance."
After watching the music video, I was even more drowned into the song. The picturesque settings just got into me and the boys are especially so manly looking it has not occurred to me just how much they have grown as an artist. I was actually surprised to see Woohyun so charismatic and that goes to all the other members too although I believe L was a little bit more of a flirt - really, nothing is wrong with that. Hoya still catches my attention with his dancing skills, it has never gone by unnoticed, believe you me. What made me happy though, was that I get to see their leader, Sunggyu, getting back on his two feet after the controversial incident earlier this year. I know through this comeback, he would want his fans to hear himself out as both an artist and a human as well. Kudos, chasers!
